Please a question, how can single ladies of this time help control their urge for sex these days?

One thing that we must clearly understand here is that as human beings we are created by God with sexual-drive which with time it will surely unfold and there is a need for us to be equipped with the right knowledge as we experience it.

Just like the case of a new born healthy baby having all the five sense organs; that is the eyes, nose, tongue, skin and ears but does not have the full knowledge of why they exist at the period of arrival during birth but immediately respond to their functions for survival consciously or unconsciously and gradually learn more about their functions as need be.

Such it is with the case of our sexual drive. It is a gift from God and must be managed the way he desires.

Now to the question

“how can single ladies of this time help control their urge for sex these days?”

I think is not just ladies but all of us as Christians should learn to control our drives, urges and desires for sex. This is very important.

FIRSTLY:

We must make effort to develop a God mindset that clearly understand that It’s a good thing if our sexual-drives, desires and urges are used within the right boundaries, which is marriage. Hebrews 13:4

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

SECONDLY

As Christians we must avoid feeding our Sexual drives, desires and urges in an ungodly way, married or unmarried

1 Corinthians 6:18

“Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body”.

Most of us do so by avoiding situations that could lead to lust. Staying away from ungodly and seductive companies. Not inviting your girlfriends or boyfriends over to your house at night. What about the half-naked picture that suddenly appears on your phone/computer (facebook, etc.) while scrolling down your timeline? Or the uncomfortable sex scene in a romantic movie you agreed to watch with your girlfriend/boyfriend?

These scenarios catch us off guard and now we have to deal with the afterthoughts. Say no to Pornography.

This is where we should follow Paul’s advice. In Romans 13:14 he says to ‘make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires’.

That’s why if a certain TV program/movie you like to watch repeatedly includes nudity scenes that can lead to lust, it is time to stop watching it. Same for the music you listen to and the people you keep company with and follow on Social Media.

Know yourself and use discernment to assess the situation before you submit yourself to it. Remember you are a new creation in Christ therefore, everything about you must be Christ Centred. 2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! …

THIRDLY

Pray. Whenever someone, a song, a picture or a movie, etc. haunts you and succeeds in putting an ungodly sexual desire in your heart and mind, do not hesitate to pray about it. Give it to Christ. This is effective; it will surely redirect your thoughts to God in a moment of weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

Dear God be my greatest desire. Ban the lust and sin of sexual immorality that is raised against the knowledge of Christ in my heart and mind. And thank you for freeing me from it in Jesus Name. Amen.’
