CASNFCI SCRIPTURE & PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Yes! We need each Other

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ. —Galatians 6:2.

In today’s world, we all struggle to be independent. We idolize independence and self-sufficiency making all effort to disconnect with others so that they may not be a burden to us. Carrying others along is not a priority. This lifestyle is also highly traced in today’s Church and stands in conflict with the truth about our unity as designed by God

We may not like it. But this is the truth, Christ has a different idea about how we should interact with one another. He wants us to be caring for one another and involved in each other’s lives. Making this a priority means we care enough about our neighbors even to point of finding out what burdens they carry. In communities where we may not even know the names of our neighbors, God nudges us to hear the concerns of their hearts. Do you have an awareness of the struggles of others around you and even in the Church? Just caring enough to ask about their well-being is a good first step. Often a listening ear is the best way to begin carrying a burden together. Genuine empathy is a healer.

The next step can be prayer. Everyone needs prayer. Pray over one another and lift each other before God. You can also lift a burden by lending a helping hand or an act of service. Or maybe you’re the one in need. Can you, in Christ’s name, allow others to serve you?

Christ’s law is fulfilled when we can reach out with genuine compassion and care for each other.

PRAYER

Lord, help us to care for each other, showing your love not only in words but also in actions and in truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
