CASNFCI SCRIPTURE & PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Who are You?

And the evil spirit answered and said Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? — Acts 19:15

From this event of the seven sons of Sceva, we learn two very important things; first Satan knows about our spiritual identity. The demons in this man spoke to the sons of Sceva, saying, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” The question here is: Do we have the kind of relationship with God that causes Satan to know us by name, and acknowledge that we’re a force to be reckoned with? When God asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant, Job?” he replied, “Does Job fear God for nothing?” “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? Job 1:8-12. Something that we need to understand here is that it’s not us that the enemy is afraid of; it’s God’s Spirit within us. Yes! God in us. Secondly, when “the evil day” comes, we will discover if we have what it takes to stand. Paul said, “Take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day” Eph 6:13. The demons in the man recognized their pretense and that they do not hold unto genuine faith; this made them vulnerable, so they aggressively confronted them. The truth here is that our wisdom cannot do the work. To stand we need the full armor of God as revealed in Eph 6:10-18. The armor of God, described by the apostle Paul in Eph 6:10-18, is our spiritual defense against attacks by Satan. Fortunately, we don’t have to leave home every morning wearing a full suit of armor to be protected. Although invisible, the armor of God is real, and when used properly, it provides solid protection against the enemy's attack. Our enemies are smart, crafty, evil, and deadly but they can be resisted and defeated. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, to stand when the day of evil comes.

PRAYER

Lord, prepare my heart and mind to use the full armor that I will be able to stand for your glory in the dark hours. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
