RENEW REFRESH REFOCUS

CASNFCI SCRIPTURE & PRAYER FOR THE DAY

The Mission

Question: Why do we need to tell people about Jesus? The simple answer is because Jesus has given a direct command to tell other people about Him. Mentors help by providing a clear vision for the mission ahead. Peter, the Apostle had a clear understanding of this that was why he testified in Acts 4:12 that “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” People are not saved from eternal condemnation by being nice or by their good deeds. People are not saved by attending church. People are saved when they repent and place their faith and trust in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Jesus has called us to tell others of their urgent need to repent from their sins and turn to Him as their Lord and Saviour. An important part of being a disciple of Jesus involves sharing the truth of who Jesus is with others. We have a message of hope, a message of love, a message of eternal consequence - Jesus is the only way of salvation. These echo the instructions given in Deuteronomy 6:4-7. The Israelites were instructed to love God above all, to obey his commands, and to talk about him in all they did each day so that their children and others would come to know God.

Our expression of faith is not only vertical, worshiping God alone, but also horizontal, showing God to everyone around us. Our faith is meant to be shared so that others can worship God. This is our mission.

PRAYER

Lord, make us disciple-makers. May we always be a reflection of your grace to those around us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
