The final blow

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel”. —Genesis 3:15

The first hint of Christmas comes soon after the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden, and it's in the form of a promise that is considered to be prophetic to address the sin conflict. If you are tired of sin conflict, you'll be glad to know that the conflict accounted for in today’s verse eventually bring all other conflicts to an end. The fact here is that the Christmas story brings this prophetic promise to fulfillment. Christmas introduces the main actor in God's plan of redemption; the kingdom battle that established God's ultimate victory over demonic powers. But the victory doesn't come without cost. That's why the Christmas story isn't just a story for reading or theater. It's an account of God’s display of His omnipotence for the redemption of mankind so that no one will be ignorant of that which is the truth about the conflict of good and evil.

Galatians 4:4-7 “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So, you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. Colossians 2:15 “And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross”.

Christmas reminds us that everything about Jesus strikes the final blow to the enemy.

PRAYER

Lord, thank you for coming in the person of Jesus to redeem us and bring an end to the conflict of sin. To you be all the glory. Hallelujah.
