CASNFCI SCRIPTURE & PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. — 1 Timothy 1:13
Paul set an example for mentoring by sharing everything about his life. He chose to share how God’s grace was at work in his life opening the eyes of his understanding to see things in God’s way; who has been merciful to him. v15-16
Paul understood how vulnerable he was without Christ. Paul named his sins, which included blasphemy, persecution, violence, ignorance, and unbelief. This is the truth and he was willing to share all. He was not ashamed of testifying his weaknesses and taking responsibility for their consequences. Something to be grabbed.
How many of us would be willing to name out our sins publicly?
Paul was able to mentor Timothy not because he was so good but because of the work of God’s grace in his life. Paul shared about his sinfulness to help Timothy see the grace that God had sent his way. Paul did not want Timothy to see him as a hero but instead pointed Timothy to Jesus. V12
We all have opportunities to share how God’s grace has been poured out abundantly in our lives. It is God’s desire for us to be transparent enough to share how His grace is daily working in us restoring our brokenness and keeping us strong in faith.

PRAYER
Lord, develop in me the confidence to tell others about your working grace and its sufficiency in all life challenges. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
