Our dedication to Christ is dependent upon our belief without question that the Gospel is true. Our experience is one link in the chain of confirmations. So are the miracles that accompany us as Christians. The worst thing that we can do is to dismiss all these issues as irrelevant. Someone will say Christians are loving and kind; I will become a Christian. Yes, we hope Christians live loving and kind lives but the primary thing is we need to hold on to the faith that God has revealed a way of salvation that goes far beyond what man could do for himself; John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”.
This is the truth that the apostle Paul is introducing us to Ephesians 3:1-5. We are invited to open a mystery package and peer inside to discover what God is sharing with us. There is more for us to know, and the wonder and mystery being offered to all people points to a new season in the great story of God’s love for the world. God’s plan includes everyone. God’s inheritance is for all who believe. God wants to build up our faith. He wants us to be His light in a dark world of sin, and unless we carry conviction in our hearts, we will be easily shaken and be of no good to anyone.
I believe that understanding the truth of the Mystery of Christ as God intends was what made Paul himself live confidently with great faith in Christ as he declares to the brethren “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain”. Philippians 1:21.
As Saints, we are no longer strangers to God’s plan in Christ “for it is God who works in us to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” making us become fully alive in Christ Philippians 2:13.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for the truth laid out in your Word and for the amazing mystery you have revealed to us in Christ. Halleluiah!
