My Testimony

I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. — Philippians 2:19.

A person in prison could easily lose confidence about being released. This is the condition in which Paul was then. So, in the meantime, Paul planned to send young Timothy.

Speaking of Timothy as a spiritual son, Paul praised the young man’s devotion to Christ. Not only would Timothy do good work in building up the Philippian church, but he would also be able to warm Paul’s heart by bringing back refreshing news about the congregation.

We all need recommendable testimonies where our devotion to Christ is evident. Just like Timothy, we have been commissioned as …ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; … on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20).

Therefore, we need to know that there are no ordinary acts of Christian lifestyle and service. All things are holy when we do them for the Lord and that is how our testimonies are daily established for God’s glory. For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope (Romans 15:4).

We need brethren who will encourage our devotion to Christ.

PRAYER

Lord, in all that we do, help us to honor you and to discern how best to live and to serve you. In Jesus’ name Amen.
