My God is Faithful

God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. — 1 Corinthians 1:9

Paul diligently taught that God is faithful, calling people into fellowship with Him, through his Son Jesus Christ. This tells us more about what God intends for those who believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Yes! God does not mean to save us and then have us keep our distance until we arrive in eternity. God sees us as being in fellowship, a deep and direct relationship, with Him, with Christ.

Being in fellowship with Christ also brings us into a relationship with each other as one body. And for the privilege to be in fellowship with God we have also been commissioned to serve as faithful witnesses for Christ to the world. Therefore, all who are called into this fellowship must live in unity and harmony.

When believers forget what unites them, they focus on externals such as who baptized whom, or who follows which leader, or who comes from what nation, or who has what skin color, or who has the most money. Our harmony is not to be based on our common preferences or interests. Ego-driven divisions have no place among us.

Remember, “The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it” 1 Thessalonians 5:24. What an honor to serve a faithful God.

PRAYER

Lord, help us to live out our relationship with you and one another in a way that testifies to your faithfulness & love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
