Jesus, the Hope

To them, God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. —Colossians 1:27

Years back when I was hospitalized the stories of good news and survival offer me hope. Indeed, such stories communicate that life can go on even after challenging moments. One of the reasons that the Christmas story can only be emphasized and loved is that, similarly, it communicates to us that there is hope for the human race even amid the sin conflict.

We live in a world full of evil practices, molestation, spousal abuse, and Internet porn, broken families, identity fraud, corporate scandal, a world of suicide bombers, and terrorist threats. We live in a world filled with different forms of diseases causing death and despair. It is to this world that the good-news story of Christmas is told.

In the Christmas story, God's own Son enters this world as one of us; a baby born and wrapped in cloths and placed in a manger. But this is no ordinary child; he's the Savior of the world. Through him comes the cure for all that is amiss in our lives and all that is wrong in this world. One of the reasons we love everything about the Christmas story so much is that it offers hope. Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” We have all reasons to be hopeful. Hallelujah.

PRAYER

Lord, thank you for Jesus; your living message of hope for the human race. Help us to testify of this truth to all men. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
