God listens to our pleas D29072021

RENEW REFRESH REFOCUS

CASNFCI SCRIPTURE & PRAYER FOR THE DAY

God listens to our pleas

And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ — Luke 18:3

The widow in this story had grown accustomed to being ignored. How often did she keep coming to see the judge? Again, and again and again! The judge got very tired of her and realized she would not quit. The plea was always the same: “Grant me justice against my adversary.” The job of the judge was to enforce the laws of justice and make things right. She knew she had been wronged, and she knew justice would come, so she persisted till the judge finally stand to do his job v3-5.

We may not have always seen justice and prayer working together but God’s silence and his slowness in making things right in the world. It’s easy to get tired of praying for the same thing over and over again. It’s much more exciting when we see immediate results in our prayers. But things don’t always work that way.

Jesus taught a powerful lesson here that we should never give up when we pray and seek justice. Not like the human judge, our God is just, he would always listen to our pleas for justice.

PRAYER

Lord, help us to stay strong and keep trusting in your will even in the shadows of injustice and silence. In Jesus' name Amen.
