God has a target
It’s our anchor in life’s storms, our compass when you’re lost, and the head of steam that gets us up the next hill. James says, “The testing of your faith produces perseverance.” Perseverance here means to “keep on holding on,” to develop our faith. When the process is complete, God will end the trial. Here are some Scriptures we need to help us keep holding on and not give up: Isaiah 43:1-2 “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you”. 1Corinthians 10:13 “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it”. And 1Corinthians 10:13 “We are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you”.
Let’s persevere; in everything that concerns our faith that we’re going through right now for it will be more worth it in the end.
PRAYER
Lord, develop in me the consciousness to remain faithful no matter what happens. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
