CASNFCI SCRIPTURE & PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Barriers Broken
The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell and worshiped. — Revelation 5:14
What is your commitment to, and are sure about it in this life? Some people aren’t sure about anything, and many have a fear of commitment. This is a sad way to live. After all, our identity is formed by the commitments we make. That’s why the little word “Amen” is so important to affirm our commitment as God desires in everything. In biblical times, it was the custom of the whole congregation to respond to God’s Word and the prayers of their leaders with a united “Amen.” That’s what we see in our reading today. The entire creation, represented in the four living creatures, offers “Amen!” to the good news of the victorious Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:20 “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so, through him, the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God”. Every time we say Amen after hearing the truth from the Bible, in the back of our minds this should mean: “Yes! I believe this is true because of Jesus.” Every promise of blessing, peace, provision, comfort, forgiveness, life, and holiness is fulfilled because of the work and person of Christ. Yes! Jesus is the great Amen Revelation 3:14 “… “'The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the source of God's creation, says this:” Therefore, It is important to remind ourselves never to say Amen mindlessly.

PRAYER
Lord, develop in us the consciousness not to merely use the word AMEN but with honor, now and for eternity. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
