RENEW REFRESH REFOCUS
CASNFCI SCRIPTURE & PRAYER FOR THE DAY

A place of rest
How often do we feel powerless when faced with situations that seem to have no happy result? How often do we wish to turn to someone who can help us in a situation that seems impossible to resolve? Or, as our verse implies, how often do we just want to fly away? Remember how King David escaped to the Mount of Olives weeping when he was Betrayed and rejected by his son and abandoned by his most trusted adviser as accounted in 2 Samuel 15:30-31.
Psalms 55 speaks honestly about such challenges of life and helps us learn how to recover from the pit of such realities. These are not always happy emotions: as Christians, we also feel the pressures of life in this world. The psalms help us honestly express our faith. We can pray the psalms, recite the psalms, and sing the psalms. We can cry out to God, using their words. They offer a voice of praise, but also of lament. The Bible, God’s Word to us, is versatile for any occasion.
Are you being real with what is going on in your life? The Psalms encourage us to be real with God no matter what we are going through and where we find ourselves. God knows that the journey of life is not always easy. He wants to hear from us always, even at our worst. He cares and wants the best for us in all circumstances Romans 8:28.
We cannot "cast all our anxiety upon him" unless we first acknowledge His Lordship over us. Therefore, let’s cast our cares on the Lord. He will sustain us Psalm 55:22.

PRAYER
Lord, keep us strong even when betrayed, rejected, and abandoned by our loved ones that we may not fall into sin. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
